Started in 1973 by three Chandor seafarers and organised every season by Chandor Club on the Chandor Church ground, with the whole village on the touchline.

How it began
Three seafarers and a trophy
In 1973 three men of Chandor who worked at sea came together to sponsor a football trophy for their village, the village that celebrates the feast of the Three Magi. Chandor Club kicked off the first Seamen Trophy on 15 August 1973, with Prof. Joaquim Menezes as club president. SWATI of Benaulim were the first winners.
